Come closer and see / See into the trees…” — The Cure nike air max 2010 mens, “A Forest”

This Sunday is Earth Day. This Saturday is the birthday of Robert Smith of The Cure. And to celebrate nike air max 2012 mens, this Friday, April 20th, KEXP presents Goths In Trees Day.

Inspired by the website Goths Up Trees, we’ll be featuring photos of your favorite DJ’s and KEXP staff dressed as goths… y’know, in trees.

We invite YOU to dress like a goth and climb a tree, too! Share your photos on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #GothsinTrees and tag us at @KEXP. We also invite you to tag us on Facebook, and on Tumblr with #KEXP.

We’re not sure how the phenomenon began, but we can only assume it was the influence of the birthday boy, Robert Smith, whose band The Cure had a 1980 hit with the song “A Forest monster beats studio headphones,” a song where Smith morosely implores us “into the trees…”

And why not into the trees? Trees help to filter our air, reduce noise pollution, provide shade, help prevent erosion, and so much more. Trees also provide an excellent backdrop for goth photos…

Stay tuned to the KEXP Blog all week long for more photos of DJs, staff, and YOU.
